Did Astronomers Just Discover a New Planet X Beyond Pluto?

Image
The universe never ceases to amaze us, as somethings new is discovered every day. Humans have always wanted to learn more about the universe we live in, and its exploration has fascinated everyone, not only scientists. In the modern era, new technology has helped scientists gain more data and form interesting theories through their research. When evidence is provided, theories become facts. Here is what was recently announced about our universe and, more precisely, our solar system. Two renowned planetary scientists, Konstantin Batygin and Mike Brown of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, have recently announced in “ The Astronomical Journal “ that they have evidence for the existence of a new ninth planet. According to them, a celestial body about the size of Neptune (with the mass of 10 earths) orbits the sun every 15,000 years. However, this planet, Planet X as they call it, hasn’t been seen yet. Batygin is a 29-year-old whiz kid computer modeler a

New Statue in Germany Illustrates How Much The Rest of the World Opposes US Secrecy collective-evolution

We go through life choosing to believe in the good. We trust, we protect, we communicate, and we love. But there are constant reminders lurking about in our world that show us how little we may know; how much information is withheld from us from political powers who wish to control how we treat our bodies, our bank accounts, and our planet. Marianne Williamson, a spiritual activist, said it best when she said, “Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.” To be reminded that we are given so little information, and instead brainwashed into believing certain things, is disheartening, even angering, which is why when activists take a stand for global freedom, it is

Watch: Dad Uses Cannabis Oil To Treat Three Year Old Epileptic Daughter collective-evolution

Image
Alex Repetski is your average dad, but to his three year old daughter, Gwenevere, he could be a hero. He’s spent the last 18 months and more than 800 hours reading through studies and medical journals, researching CBD and its healing properties, to help her with the tonic, myoclonic, and clinical seizures she was having — sometimes up to 50 a day. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and, as her EEGs revealed, was experiencing constant subclinical seizure activity throughout the day. It may not have looked like she was having a seizure from the outside, but at the brain level there were neurons firing constantly, and such activity can produce significant brain damage. Gwenevere had a team of doctors that were trying an array of medicines to reduce the number of seizures she was having each day. At one point she was on 9 different medications. They kept hoping each subsequent medication would work, but nothing did. That’s when Alex decided to look into cannabis oil. “At that point, we real

First Vegan Butcher Shop Opens In The United States collective-evolution

The Herbivorous Butcher opened its doors last week in Minneapolis and it was a huge success. This first-of-its kind vegan butcher shop in the United States was made possible by a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter spearheaded by brother and sister Aubry and Kale Walch. The doors opened last Saturday to a receptive crowd that was more than a little excited to try all of the cruelty-free products the shop has to offer. If you are sitting there wondering how something so seemingly oxymoronic could even be possible, you are probably not alone, but rest assured, you can expect to find vegan versions of many popular deli meats, sausages, ribs – even porterhouse steak and a variety of house-made cheeses. Because contrary to popular belief, you can be vegan and still enjoy all of your favourite things without contributing to the suffering of animals. Check Out This Video From NowThis This Is America’s First Ever “Vegan Butcher Shop” : A “vegan butcher shop” sells meatless meat and ch

5 Big Benifits Kids Can Get From Yoga collective-evolution

Kermit the Frog has a wonderful song – “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” And kids love this song because they can relate. After all, it’s not easy being a kid today either. More and more is asked of them in school; they are hurried from one activity to the next; homework begins at much earlier grade levels now, and then there are all of the digital distractions that top off fully exhausting days and evenings. It’s Beginning to Show in the Classroom Teachers are frustrated because attention spans seem to be so short and because they have to be entertainers if they want to engage learning in their classrooms. Parents worry that their kids won’t pass the standardized state tests that often decide promotion to the next grade. So, they cart their kids to tutoring sessions, among all of the sports practices. Kids just don’t have any non-stimulated time, and that is a huge concern. This is where  yoga comes in. Yoga – the Balance Every Kid Needs Amidst the flurry of activity, there should be

Beautiful Video: First Ever “Glowing Sea” Turtle Found collective-evolution

Image
To me, the ocean has always been a scary place, mostly because I am very aware that 95 percent of it remains unexplored and 80 percent of the ocean floor has not been mapped. This is pretty shocking considering that the ocean makes up 70 percent of the earth’s surface and scientists estimate we still only know about a tenth of the marine life on Earth — which, in my mind, leaves a lot of room for sea monsters and giant squids to be lurking about. So I’m happy to say that one sea creature a marine biologist recently discovered wasn’t scary at all, but quite fascinating! The Discovery Marine biologist David Gruber  was in the Solomon Islands on a TBA21 Academy expedition, when he and Markus Raymann, director of their group, discovered the biofluorescent turtle, the Hawksbill. They were taking pictures of coral they already knew were biofluorescent when 40 minutes into the dive a bright red and green ‘space ship’ came underneath his camera: Scientists have only really tuned into bioflu

These People Are Going Into ISIS Controlled Territory In Syria On Feb 1st To Lead A Global Peace Meditation collective-evolution

This isn’t the first time James Twyman has been called to participate in peace dealings. It has been his life’s work for over 20 years; he has sponsored prayer vigils and even played in Iraq in 1998, when asked by Saddam Hussain to do a peace concert with over a million people. I spoke to him while he was in Assisi, Italy, and he told me that 30 years ago, leaders from 12 major religions came together to pray their peace prayers from their respective religions. James received these prayers in 1994 from a friend, learned them, and put them to music. He soon realized what it was his calling to share them with the world. Years later, he still sees the immense value in people coming together in a harmonized way for peaceful outcomes. This mission feels especially important to him right now because of the very tangible fear people have surrounding terrorism and ISIS. It all started when he was contacted by a group based out of Jerusalem called the Abrahamic Reunion. They represent leaders

Physicists Are About To Test A Hypothesis That Could Rewrite The Textbooks physics-astronomy

A team of physicists suggested that the fundamental building unit proton can alter its structure under certain circumstances. Scientists are now performing experiments to show that the structure of protons can change inside the nucleus under certain conditions. If they become successful, all the current studies are going to be reviewed. Anthony Thomas and his team have published their results in Physical Review Letters . Image Credit: Lana Po/Shutterstock.com The researcher, Anthony Thomas said “The idea that the internal structure of protons might change under some specific conditions seems to be ridiculous, for most of the scientists. While for others like me, indication of this internal change is highly pursued and would help to explicate some of the uncertainties in theoretical physics”. This study has certain insinuations in the fields of nuclear and theoretical physics. Protons are one of the smallest building blocks, made up of small particles known as quar

Genetic Study Provides First Ever Insight Into Biological Origin Of Schizophrenia collective-evolution

A landmark study has revealed that an overactive gene may be rooted in the origins of neurological disease.  Schizophrenia, a devastating neurological disorder characterized by delusional thoughts and hallucinations, affects about 1% of the total population. The exact cause of schizophrenia has been mostly elusive until now, as scientists recently made headway in the disorder’s origins, the journal  Nature reports. Researchers discovered that overactive genes that regulate a process called synaptic pruning, in which the brain sheds weak or redundant connections between neurons as it matures, are likely involved in the onset of schizophrenia. People who carry genes that accelerate or intensify that pruning are at higher risk of developing schizophrenia than those who do not. Scientists from Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Broad Institute teamed up and began by focusing on a location on the human genome known as the MHC, which was most strongly associated

The Harmful Effects Of Statin Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs& How We Are Being Deceived Into Taking Them collective-evolution

“The medical profession is being bought by the pharmaceutical industry, not only in terms of the practice of medicine, but also in terms of teaching and research. The academic institutions of this country are allowing themselves to be the paid agents of the pharmaceutical industry. I think it’s disgraceful.” – ( source )(source) Arnold Seymour Relman (1923-2014), Harvard Professor of Medicine and Former Editor-in-Chief of the New England Medical Journal High Cholesterol is a big problem. In America alone, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 73.5 million adults (31.7%) have high low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or “bad,” cholesterol. Statin cholesterol-lowering drugs are one of the biggest drugs prescribed to patients for this problem, making a profit of $20 billion a year. Statins are taken by one in four Americans over the age of 45, predominately to protect themselves against heart attacks and strokes. As with any health concern in life, it’s important to

Light Therapy Is More Effective Than Prozac In Major Depression truththeory

Image
Feeling SAD? New data shows that light therapy is more effective than Prozac on patients with significant depression. Introduction: Bright light therapy has a proven track record of success in the treatment of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), commonly referred to as the winter blues. A new study from the University of British Columbia shows that this simple and safe therapy is effective for non-seasonal  major depression . In fact, researchers showed light therapy was much more effective than fluoxetine (Prozac). Background Data: During the winter months, sufferers of SAD typically feel depressed; they generally slow down, oversleep, overeat, and crave carbohydrates. In the summer, these same people feel elated, active, and energetic. Although many variables may be responsible for SAD, the lack of exposure to full-spectrum natural light appears to be the most logical explanation. The antidepressive effects of full-spectrum light therapy have been demonstrated in well-monitored

A Colorful Tale: Why Leftover Crayons Are Now Being Hospitalized truththeory

Image
by Chrystal Johnson Every year, up to 75,000 pounds of broken crayons are thrown away and wind up in landfills across the country. This number is concerning as crayon wax isn’t biodegradable, so it will never break down. Instead, it will leave a waxy sludge in our landfills for generations to come. One dad in San Francisco, Bryan Ware, has come up with a solution that not only benefits our environment, but benefits hospitals as well. In 2011, Ware founded The Crayon Initiative , an organization that takes crayon waste from restaurants, melts them down and recycles them into new crayons for children at hospitals. The idea came to Ware when he was celebrating his birthday with his family at a restaurant. When the waiter provided his sons with some crayons to occupy them at the table, Ware pondered what would happen to the crayons after they left. The answer was they wound up in the landfill. By collecting unwanted crayons from restaurants, schools, as well as other locations, and

337 Dead Whales In Chile Is Worst Case Of Mass Deaths So Far truththeory

Image
As world leaders gather in Paris to discuss a future free from Ecocide, researchers report the biggest mass whale death known to science. In the most shocking case of mass animal deaths to date, 337 endangered Sei whales have been found dead in Southern Chile. According to Chilean news agencies . the whales were discovered by scientists on November 17, but only now has the mass death been reported to the authorities (and leaked to the press). In May, in the same part of the Aysen region, biologist Vreni Haussermann discovered 30 dead Sei whales . Baffled scientists suggested at the time that the deaths might have been caused by a virus, and promised to launch an investigation. At first, researchers counted 20 carcasses but warned that the number could increase following their investigations. The final count is shocking. After the first deaths in May, Haussermann teamed up with Dr. Carolina Simon Gutstein and they pooled their resources together. Using aerial and satellite photog

This Ancient Babylonian Map Of Jupiter Just Changed History collective-evolution

Image
A historian has just decoded a mysterious trapezoid from ancient Babylonian astronomical tablets. After analysis of the tablet, it’s been concluded that Babylonian astronomers had calculated the movements of Jupiter using an ancient form of geometric calculus. Keep in mind that this is approximately 1500 years before we thought this type of math was invented by the Europeans. The tablet was translated by astroarcheologist Matthieu Ossendrijver of Humbolt University in Berlin. As Science Alert points out: “This means that these ancient Mesopotamian astronomers had not only figured out how to predict  Jupiter’s paths more than 1,000 years before the first telescopes existed, but they were using mathematical techniques that would form the foundations of modern calculus as we now know it.”  This is a big discovery, the tablet is one out of hundreds that were excavated during the 19th century, anthropologists and archaeologists have been working for more than one hundred years trying t

Watch: A Soon-To-Be Married Couple Put Through 100 Years Of Aging collective-evolution

Image
For some, myself included, the idea of aging can be a frightening prospect. I’ve barely begun the second half of my twenties and I already unnecessarily preoccupy myself with fears of getting older, largely centred around my receding hairline. While most of these thoughts are completely irrational, and true beauty certainly does lie within, I was happy to come across a video that offered an interesting experience related to aging. Those behind the YouTube channel Field Day  got an engaged couple (Tavis and Kristie) to come in and be transformed by the power of makeup, affording them the unique opportunity to see each other, and themselves, at later stages of their lives. Currently in their late twenties, the pair was transformed to look as they may appear at 50, 70, and 90 years old, and then revealed to one another at each stage. Their reactions to each other and to themselves, as well as the profound meaning they took from the experience, are certainly worth watching. While the m

5 Of The Best Homemade Vegan Cheeses That Will Make You Forget About The Real Thing collective-evolution

Whether you are recently vegan, plant-based, lactose intolerant, cutting back on animal products, or one of those vegetarians that says, “ I just don’t think I could ever give up cheese,”  then, this is for you! This may surprise you, but there are alternative ways to make cheese. Nuts, for example, make a great homemade cheese because of their creamy texture and high fat content. If you’re thinking that there is no way nut cheese could replace real cheese, then I challenge you to try at least one of the recipes below and then see what you think. Here are the top 5 homemade vegan cheeses. Click on the headings for the links to the recipes. 1. Baked Almond Feta This is one of my absolute favourites. Not only is it extremely easy to make, but it tastes incredible, and in my opinion is even better than the real thing! This cheese can be devoured with crackers or crostini, or even crumbled on top of pasta or pizza. It is truly versatile. 2. Cashew Ricotta This recipe is awesome! You

8 Great Foods To Eat For Cleaner Arteries collective-evolution

There are so many reasons to celebrate food. Their ability to not just sustain life, but to improve it, is certainly high on the list, and  superfoods  definitely fit the bill in that regard. A relatively new name given to a select few foods, these superior sources of nourishment are chock-full of nutrients, giving our bodies everything from antioxidants to polyphenols, vitamins and minerals. Touted ‘super’ for their ability to provide a plethora of health benefits, it’s important to become aware of the ones that should be at the top of your grocery list. And if you’re looking to improve your arteries, whose health is pertinent to your overall wellbeing , then you’ll want to read on. The arteries play an important role in the body, carrying blood, rich in oxygen, from the heart to various tissues throughout the body. What hinders this process is the presence of plaque , which can build up on the inner walls of the arteries, making it harder for the blood to flow properly. Plaque occur

Billionaire Governor Taxed The Rich & Increased Minimum Wage: Look What Happened collective-evolution

Image
When Minnesota governor Mark Dayton took office in January of 2011 he inherited quite the difficult situation to turn around. The midwestern state was drowning in a $6.2 billion budget deficit and had a troubling 7% unemployment rate. Coming in on the heels of Tim Pawlenty, a leader who failed to generate any substantial new revenue and created only 6,200 new jobs, the pressure was on for Dayton to do better. As the billionaire heir to the Target fortune, many didn’t expect Dayton to be capable of much of anything, but now, over 5 years in office, he has effected real change for the North Star State. To do this, Governor Dayton implemented two key factors that to many may seem commonsensical: he implemented higher taxes on the rich and increased minimum wage. The income tax increase impacted individuals earning over $150,000 and couples combining to earn over $250,000, as they were now taxed at a rate of 9.85% (up from 7.85%). This hike has since helped the state drastically chip aw

Take A Look At This Self-Filling Water Bottle That Turns Air Into Drinkable Water collective-evolution

The implications of this technology are huge, especially for regions of extreme poverty where people do not have easy access to clean drinking water. It’s a self-filling water bottle that actually turns air into drinkable water by using the condensation of the humidity which is contained in the air. It was designed by Kristof Retezar, a designer based in Vienna, whose intention was to provide more than one billion people around the world, in water-scarce areas, with clean drinking water. It’s called Fontus , and it works by using the simple principle of condensation. Basically, when humid air flows into the contraption, it hits a series of hydrophobic ‘teeth’ which help turn the water vapor into actual water droplets. What’s even better is that it’s completely solar powered, and has a device attached to it that helps keep bugs and dust out. Unfortunately, at this time it cannot filter out potentially harmful contaminants. Retezar told Live Science  that  “the water you get is clean

In the eye-opening video posted below, a spoken word piece is performed, a variety of different speakers are included, including people of various racial and cultural backgrounds. This video makes an important point; WE are NOT what we LOOK LIKE. There is more to who each of us is than our appearance, and underneath our appearance we are actually all very similar! So when we judge someone based on their looks, we often miss out on that incredible being that is inside that body, it really doesn’t make sense. It reminds me of when I first moved to Toronto, I came from a very small town in Northern British Columbia (North Western Canada) where there is very little culture. I started working as a server at an Italian restaurant and was introduced to several Sri Lankan and Indian cooks in the kitchen. I remember thinking I’ll never remember their names and I likely won’t have anything in common with them anyways. It wasn’t that I was racist, I just had gone my whole life not being exposed

Under-Ocean Military Bases: There Is More Than Just One Area 51… See For Yourself collective-evolution

“It is ironic that the U.S. would begin a devastating war, allegedly in search of weapons of mass destruction, when the most worrisome developments in this field are occurring in your own backyard. It is ironic that the U.S. should be fighting monstrously expensive wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, allegedly to bring democracy to those countries, when it itself can no longer claim to be called a democracy, when trillions, and I mean thousands of billions of dollars have been spent on projects about which both the Congress and the Commander in Chief have been kept deliberately in the dark.” – Paul Hellyer   (Former Canadian Defence Minister) In was only three years ago (2013) that the Central Intelligence Agency finally admitted to the existence of Area 51. Although it didn’t ‘officially’ exist before the CIA made this admission, it was pretty clear that something secretive was going on in the Nevada desert. That secretive something would be the testing of secret aircraft and technology
